One year update.

So my son is 13 months. He is a very sweet boy and very opinionated in a good way. I still work from home but just in a slightly different aspect. I can set my own time as to when to call my customers. I have learned many things in this first year so here are my top 10 things I learned in my first year as a new mom.
1. Take the time you need if you can to just spend with your new baby, don't rush it.
2. Breast feeding is great......but you are not in any way, shape or form a failure if you can't and don't go spending a ton of money trying to breast feed like I did.
3. Dr's have there ideas of how to raise your little one and many times they have valid points but only you and your mom instincts know what is truly best for your baby and your family.
4. Reading and going to classes about how child birth will be is fine but leave room in your mind that things may not go exactly as they say.
5. Don't spend a ton of money on clothing the first year they grow out of them to fast.
6. Remember you and your little one are learning about each other. Think of each day as a learning experience , and it's ok to not be perfect. In you babies eyes you always will be.
7. Don't worry about the house not being super clean or grass being cut. These things never change and will wait. Your little one grows fast put them first!
8. Stage 3 baby food in the squeeze pouches mixed with a little water in a sippy cup makes a great smoothie.
9. Remember  to be thankful for this little one no matter how crazy your day was.
10. Always tell them you love them and kiss them good night. Than in the morning take time to have a special just the two of you moment.

Well that's my list. I hope this helps or gives you something to think about.
And as always remember to snuggle with those babies.

Work life balance

My son is now 5 months ( I'm setting here rocking him as I speak) he is my everything.
I can't even remember life before him.
One of my biggest challenges is working from home and balancing being a mom. My job ( which is great to be able to work from home) is such that I need to  have time to be on the phone doing customer service. This is fine except when my son gets up from his nap and is crying for me to come get him and I'm on the phone. I get this overwhelming guilty feeling that I am not giving him the instant attention. I know it is just a matter of finding that balance. Other parents out there what have you found works in order to find that work life balance ?

Life as a new mom !!!!

I know I have not been able to post much in a long time. So much in my life has changed and it is great changes. I have been very busy with My Son he is now 6 weeks old ( wow where has the time gone already) and he is the love of my life! M husband and I have been wanting children for many years and at one point I felt it would never happen. I was so happy when last Christmas we found out we were expecting. After this everything went so fast. I had a great pregnancy, and my son is here healthy, happy very easy going. I am very lucky and feel blessed to have him.

So this has sent me into a new creative mind set. I need to be creative with my time, when to sleep, and projects I can make for him. So far I have made 2 knit hats, 2 blankets (he now has more blankets than anyone I know.) and want to make a nursing scarf for me. I will be adding photos soon.
